Dark Shadows

Johnny Depp saves this movie from total boredom, and does it in style, but I was not impressed by the movie other than that. It’s supposed to be a comedy/thriller, and Johnny Depp is hilarious as a vampire, but the type of values the movie seems to promote is a bit disappointing. (OK, it’s a comedy, I know, but it seems to take a very lax, “anything goes” attitude towards things like sex outside of marriage, selfishness, murder, etc.). Still, there are many entertaining vampire scenes if you can stomach the rest.
